Dr. Paul Nassif for revision

July 6, 2009 · Posted in Primary rhinoplasty, Revision rhinoplasty

Does anybody know if Dr.Nassif is a good choice for a reconstruction of the nose. I have an appointment for a revision with dr.Davis in two months but I’m not sure since I’ve read some bad things about him…like the way the nose collapse and the tuch up that he always have to do $$$$ and since I leave in montreal i can’t afford those tuch up and those trips. Have you heard good things about Nassif. Anyhow I will keep you update with my revision … I can’t wait !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
( sorry for my english :) :) )

When I think of Dr. Nassif, I don’t think “reconstruction.” Personally, I think cosmetics! I have never spoken with one of his patients personally, but I know he has happy ones out there! However, I don’t know if these were patients looking at reconstructive issues versus small cosmetic ones. gp8 (another poster on this board) recently mentioned Dr. Der Sarkissian–and I had never heard of him before! I looked him up on ratemd.com and he has some really, really happy patients on there. ALSO, he’s based out of Quincy, Ma–which is super close to Montreal (at least compared to Los Angeles!!). I really want to see some of his before and afters, but I can’t find any.

Look into him too, if you want–and if you find out anything about him, please let us know! Did Dr. Davis say whether he would use ear or rib in your revision?

What do you need done in your revision?

If you are having ’second’ thoughts — that may be a good indicator you should look around some more. It never hurts to be too careful with rhinoplasty. Each revision specialist has their own benefits and drawbacks — so a lot of it depends on what you need done during your revision.

Thanks for your suggestion I will chek him up. And if it’s near montreal I could just meet him to see what he think of my case. As fo dr Davis…. I don’t even meet him but I have seen alot of good revision he does….I also ask carmen (one of his secretery) if I can book for the surgery IN CASE I decided davis to be my surgeon… she says yes but I will have to make a deposit … So it’s not completely sure ….. If I dont feel that dr.davis is the right surgeon i’m not gonna booked. But for now my consultation is sept.24 and the surgery sept.28… I hope it’s gonna work … it’s 2000$ for the trip so….

G82 : my nose need a total reconstruction cauz my first doctor take off way too much cartilage on my tip, it is upturned and too short… my bridge is really high also. My breathing also has been affected but not that much.

needrevision: I agree with you with the style on dr.nassif … on his website the revision also seem to be really conservatrive correct me if i’m wrong.

    I’m gonna continue searching anyhow….till i’m gonna be 100% confident :)

Tara–Did Dr. Davis say what kind of grafting he will use to fix your tip? He usually tells you in the consult. I’m curious if he will use ear (conchal) cartilage or rib??? Also, how will he fix your bridge–will he break your bones (osteotomy) or will he just rasp it down?? Please let me know!

I don’t know all these informations since I didn’t meet him yet. I will know every details at my first consultation on sept.24!!!Four days prior my surgery. But I will let you know and I’ll post how the things are going on.

OH! I thought you already had your consultation! :) Dr. Davis used to REQUIRE prospective patients to see him in person before booking a surgery date. That is why I thought you had seen him once already. I guess he changed his policy!! I’m not surprised though, since most doctors are doing it this way. He was one of the “stricter” ones out there. So, will you get your deposit back if you decide not to do the surgery with him after your consult? Did you send him photos of your nose?

Yes he probably change his policy but I explain to Carmen on the phone that I was from montreal and that it was really expensive for me to booked the plane, the hotel and a car for only an one hour consultation … she seems to understand my issue … For the money … if i do not want a surgery with Davis I’m not gonna make a deposit(on sept 24)… I will have to make one only if I’m considering a surgery 4 days later. lol its a little bit complicated but we gonna work that way since I’m living far from miami I dont know how he really works with his patient usually … It’s gonna cost me about 3000$ to stay there 12 days thats why (+ approximatively 12 to 15 000 for the surgery)!! I didin’T send him pics he didnt ask me to he ask me how many surgery I had before thats it.

did you have your surgery with Davis? Are you going to go through with it?

Do you have any other suggestions on revision specialists?

Dr. Nassif’s cases might look conservative, but isn’t taking too much off the cartilage caused the collapse in your nose to begin with? isn’t this the reason you are looking to get a revision? did you get the revision?
