Rhinoplasty in Miami?

July 20, 2009 · Posted in Primary rhinoplasty

I’ve been researching online for a little while to find a good plastic surgen for rhinoplasty in the Miami area and one that I came across that looks pretty good is Bal Harbour Plastic Surgery. I don’t know how to tell if it’s a good place to go to though, so what do you think? I think it’s a pretty good fit but I’m not sure. Here’s the link.

I just checked out the site–and it looks like you have to “register” or “sign-up” to have full access to the before/after galleries!! I didn’t sign up, but I think a doctor should just put the photos up–open access–if they are going to be on the internet. One thing you should look for besides before and after photos is the doctor’s training and board certifications. For example, did they do their residency in ENT (ear-neck-throat) / Otolaryngology or did they just do a plastics surgery residency. Often the docs who do an ENT residency and then a fellowship in plastic surgery are the more experienced doctors when dealing with nose jobs. Then again, the doc I went to did the ENT/plastics training and he sucks. Anyway, you should also try to talk to or find people who have actually been patients of this doctor! Make sure people are happy with him! And always do your research. I can’t stress this enough. I did little to no research before I had my rhinoplasty, and I would have been in a way better position had I done my homework. I hope this helps! Let me (and everyone else) know if you have any other questions. If you’re thinking of having your surgery in Miami, look into a Dr. Richard E. Davis also!

Thanks for the advice. I’ll definitely look more into what you said and see what I can come up with. One thing with what you said though – I’m pretty sure that there’s this new law/rule with google where those photos can’t be openly available to the public. If google finds them up for anyone to see right on the site (without signing in or confirming age) they will flag them and remove them from any searches in google so it won’t come up at all. It’s considered pornography apparently.

But anyway, back to researching… Let me know if anyone else finds anything. Thanks!

I didn’t know that about google! I guess I can see their reasoning about pornography (i.e. “boob job” pictures!). Are you set on having your rhinoplasty in Miami or Florida? Since this is a primary, be very, very careful who you pick. This person should have A LOT of experience with nose jobs. Do NOT pick a doctor based on price. Do NOT pick a doctor based on a fancy website. You should consult with at least three docs before picking one. I went with the first one I consulted with–and I had some reservations in my consult that I just didn’t “listen” to. Had I gone with my gut feeling, I wouldn’t have gone with him. If I had talked to more docs, perhaps I would have found one I had more confidence in. Just continue to be proactive. You are definitely on the right track! :)
