I really want surgery to fix my big, droopy schnozz side so I’m wondering if I have any sort of case for a deviated septum! please help.

Also why the unevenness??? The side i like seems to have a bit of hard stuff in it, giving it support, which is entirely missing from the droopy side.

I certainly have a prominent nose, but am unsure if making it smaller would even fit my face at all. Perhaps theres some type of other revision rhinoplasty that would be appropriate for me, such as tip rhinoplasty.

Believe it or not, I went all throughout high school and pledging a ruthless fraternity without anyone ever saying anything about my nose. I had gone in for a septoplasty to correct a deviated septum and noticed that my front profile changed as the tip droops more. I also heard someone complain of a similar thing. I then took a profile shot from the side and wasn’t really sure what to make of it; im not a bad looking guy at all from the front and think the profile is much different. This would all be done for myself and am wondering about anyone elses opinion who may be going through the same thing.

I attached a picture of a simulated program that gave me a before/after view.

Hi all,

I live in the northeast USA and I’m looking for a doctor who can help me out. I am willing to travel so even CA is an option.

I had a primary surgery done 10 years ago, which ultimately I was not happy with. Collapsed bridge, asymmetry, etc. It needed alot of work. So then I had a revision about 3 years ago (with a different doctor). It went well for the most part, but there were some nagging issues. I went back to the doctor for some in-office work to try and remedy them. When I say in office I mean he injected a local anesthetic to the area and used a scalpel and absorbable sutures to make small modifications.

Basically what I’m left with is 1 nostril that is not quite symmetric with the other. The doctor just couldn’t get it quite right. I’m certain it can be fixed with a little bit of work. I could see possibly needing a tiny bit of skin grafting. I would also question the doctor about tip definition, as mine is a bit undefined, but if it would require significant work I would probably pass since it’s not that bad.

So my main concern is to find a doctor that can make minor millimeter adjustments to the nostril area to get 1 side to match the other better.

I am 31 years old and have always contemplated having my nose reshaped as early as elementary school..getting teased in school about my nose still haunts me to this day. As I got older I learned to brush off people’s comments but still remained very self conscious when taking photos. I recently became engaged and would like to have Rhinoplasty before I get married as I would love to not have to worry about how our wedding photos will turn out. I am very hesitant because I have read a lot of horror stories regarding this procedure. So if anyone can please recommend me a great plastic surgeon in the Chicago land area, that has produced them excellent results, I would greatly appreciate it!

I am a 21 year old girl living in Chicago. In March of 2009, I had a closed rhinoplasty and septoplasty. It was a terrible experience. I bruised so bad. The doctor broke my nose, which I wish he would not have done. Anyway, my breathing has improved but now my nose is crooked. I am beyond miserable. I always wear my glasses to hide it. I have had sleepless nights and anxiety due to this. I thought the rhinoplasty would help me feel better not worse.

Anyhow, I definitely want to get it fixed to straighten it out. I am thinking that maybe a graft can be added to the right side of my nose and make it even with the left. I don’t even know. I JUST DO NOT WANT MY NOSE BROKEN AGAIN and I DO NOT think I would want an open rhinoplasty either because healing from a closed one was rough enough…. Basically, I just want my life back and to get this fixed as minimally invasive as possible… lol. Is this even possible?

PLEASE RESPOND- ANYBODY WHO HAS SOME EXPERIENCE WITH THIS. ALSO, ANYBODY WITH INFORMATION ABOUT DOCTORS IN CHICAGO.
I am thinking of going to Toriumi. I know he has some bad reviews, but I also think he is very experienced and knows what he is doing. I have already been to Dr. Gary Wiesman for a consultation. He offered a free consult. Anyway, he seemed nice and experienced, but I just do not know if I can trust him and I do not know about anybody else. I want to make a right choice in a doctor and I think Toriumi seems like the safest choice. Has anybody on here had a revision by Toriumi? Does anybody know anything about Gary Wiesman? Please help. I am so depressed and I wish I would have never gotten myself into this mess to begin with.

I have one problem. I have an indented scar on my columella from the open incision (I had open rhino 4 times).

What types of treatments are available to fill in my indentation? The columella scar is slightly darker than my skin tone and the indentation is noticeable even when I wear concealer.

I’ve been reading that fillers, microdermabrasion and laser therapy are some available treatments.

Suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!!!!

Disclaimer: these are my opinions only. So take it as it is.

After reading the boards, I looked at 3 surgeons to get my Primary Rhinoplasty done. I contacted 2 of them. I had surgery with Daniels.

I find many reviews on the boards lacking information that would have been helpful to me. So I tried to write reviews that would help others out. The review with Frankel tells of my consultation experience. The review with Daniels tells of my consultation, price, pre and post op experience.

I hope people can learn from these experience.

Reason Why I did not bother with making a consultation appointment with Nassif:
Looking at his website, I wasn’t impressed with his pre and post op pictures. He had a lot of patient images, but I did not see much of a difference in the pre and post. I know Nassif is great at marketing, he is on all the forums, and has video on youtube. I just didn’t see any concrete evidence that he was the surgeon for me.

So I Contacted Frankel, and did a consult with him. You can read my review here about it. I really liked him, I actually had planed on going with him, but then I wanted a 2nd opinion just for shits and giggles, and so I went to Dr. Daniels.

I chose Daniel’s over Frankel. I’m glad I did.

Finally, if you have any feedback, comments, questions. I would be happy to answer them. However I am not on these boards. I am only posting this here because when I was looking for information I could of used this information. You can find me on lunch.com/seth76

Review of Frankel
Review of Daniel

Does anybody have any experience with rhinoplasty by Prof Palma (Milan)? I’ve read that he is very good as in primary cases, as in revision by closed approach. Has his personal philosophy and technique. I have some septal deviation that compromises my breathing, so, I’d like to do functional and cosmetic parts as a one-step procedure. He is otorhino and do this job well, as I know. I have rather fine facial features and pretty thin skin. so, the open approach with all this disection and scars scare me a little bit. And I don’t want my nose to be too big after all this grafts they put so often in the nose. Actually, I’d prefer to do a closed rhinoplasty and what I’ve read, Prof Palma is one of the best in it.

I’d like to know the patients’ opinion, if there are and I do appreciate any comments and advices.
